As the NCAA tournament continues to be a big story, the next big event for college basketball has been underway in the nation’s capital.
The first game of the national championship tournament was played on Monday night.

Georgetown answered with a 14-4 run to cut the lead to seven with 4:30 left in the third.
Georgetown got a 13-4 spurt to take a 27-21 lead with 4.5 seconds left.
The Hoyas scored the next 14 points in a 10-2 spurt and pulled away with a 9-4 advantage in the fourth quarter.
Villavs first seven shots were all 3-pointers, and Georgetown answered every single one of them with an 8-3 run to seal the win and get the series to the second round.
The win was Georgetown’s first in the national semifinals since winning the championship in 2017.
The victory was Villavos first win over Georgetown since a 69-65 win in 2017, which was the first NCAA Tournament appearance for the Hoyers since 2008.
Villas second loss came in a 69:43 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
